Settle for nothing less. The hoop is big, the ball is small. You can fit two basketballs through the hoop at the same time. You can miss 4 1/2” left or right or short or long. You can bank the thing in. You need to start believing that this is easier than you think. Because it is. Let’s stop thinking about just making the shot and instead think about putting the center of the ball in the center of the hoop. Settle for nothing less. And if you mess up. you mess up but it still can go in. Good shooters shoot bad shots that still go in. But it starts with staying with your form shooting feeling good, feeling perfect, the way you want it. Stay at that spot until your balance feels good, your follow through the way you want it, fingertips coming off the ball same way every time. And then step out a bit. Don’t settle for a left side make or a right side make (meaning not in the center of the hoop); stay with the warmup till the ball is dead center. Center of the ball in the center of the hoop. Expect that of yourself and then, eventually, grace will be bestowed upon you even when you do shoot imperfect shots. BELIEVE. And Go Knicks!
