Apologies to all the vegetarians out there but this was the spiffy acronym that coaches used to use to teach players shooting form: B (Balance) E (Elbow) E (Eyes) F (Follow-through). The + in BEEF+ comes from the fact that, yes, BEEF covers a lot of it, but it ain’t all. Like release point. Like loading up hamstrings and glutes (for power). Like proper footwork to prepare to make shots. Balls of your feet. Rotation on the ball. Head still. Center of the ball in the center of the hoop. No thumb! (Or little thumb.) You got it? You’ll definitely get it as you practice intentionally and with great confidence for 13 beautiful Sunday mornings this fall.
