What's New: Boston NTL

The Tips from the past few years have been archived at the new Never Too Late Basketball Tips blog and are waiting for you to digest. Post a comment, question, point of view, or basketball tale of your own!

NTL Boston Goes Green!

Gas and oil prices are high and getting higher. This country's reliance on foreign oil and energy costs each of us a lot and puts the nation and the whole world in messy situations. When you desperately need what someone else has, things can get sticky. One solution is to use less (or little) gas and oil.

Never Too Late Basketball Camps, Inc. is encouraging conservation, $$$ savings, environmentalism, and patriotism by offering a one dollar class fee reduction for every time a player:

1. rides a bicycle (tricycle, unicycle, any man or woman-powered cycle)

2. car pools

3. takes public transportation or

4. walks, runs, crawls, jogs, self-ambulates to practice.

Every time gets you a dollar off the next term for which you register. Ride a bike to all 8 practices this summer, you either get $8 dollars off your Fall NTL registration fee or you can designate the $$$ as a tax deductible contribution to one of a host of non-profits working toward responsible energy use that NTL will have named as possible recipients. (We'll even get you a receipt for your donation!) Simply, e-mail us your do-good after each practice or tally them up at the end of the term and we'll extend you your credit for your next NTL session or zip the $$$, in your name, to the energy-efficiency, alternative fuel, sustainable energy non-profit of your choice for your groovy tax deduction. Win/win/win!!!

Level One, Ballhandling & Shooting

The fundamentals of ballhandling and shooting still escaping you? Not quite comfortable not looking at the ball when dribbling? Are you still lefthand phobic, spinning around and around with that right hand dribble, only going right, your dirty little basketball secret? And your layup: have you missed one lately? Get the confidence you need on all your shots by practicing and adjusting and then applying what you have practiced in our practice-ending forty-five minute scrimmage.

Level Two, Ballhandling & Shooting

You handle the ball pretty well (when alone), but lack confidence when there is defense nearby. You have one move that works, but you know that is not enough. You would like to understand the footwork and the secrets behind the more advanced moves. Furthermore, you want your shot to be better, you want to be a threat, you want someone to say "guard him, (guard her), he's a shooter (and so is she)". The ball will become an extension of you, the hoop your best friend.

NTL Practice Make-up Policy

If you sign-up for a Tuesday night program, say, (or some other night) and can't make practice, please give the NTL office a call to see when during the term you can make-up that practice. We want players to play! However, we are trying to discourage the "practice" of making up practices from one term to the next. If you sign-up for the fall, please try to get all the NTL hoop you can during that term. We introduce different offenses, defenses and drills each term and try to cultivate a sense of "team".
